PARANORMAL INVESTIGATION
BALLYGALLY CASTLE HOTEL
on Tuesday 10th February 2009
History.
Ballygally Castle was built by James Shaw and his wife Isobel Brisbane in 1625. Over the centuries it survived two civil wars and a rebellion. It was passed down through the family until the 1800s when the Shaws lost their lands and the castle was sold. The castle is reputed to have a Ghost and Paranormal Ulster were here to find out. We set up our base in the 1625 room which is part of the original castle. CCTV cameras were set up in the Ghost room along with our night vision and recording equipment, motion detectors and trigger objects were also set up.
The Investigation begins..
Vigil 1.
Once protection was done two of the team watched the CCTV monitor while the rest of the team began a vigil in the Ghost room. After calling out we did not have long to wait. The energy of a female was sensed dresse in a yellow and black tartan shawl. We had temperature fluctuations around the room and the door opened and closed on request. (This may have been a draught although we are not completly certain. ) Mike also felt pressure on his back and felt an overwelming sadness from this spirit.
Vigil 2.
A series of knocks had been recorded from different parts of the room so we decided to do table work. This proved successful as we began getting intelligent response by knocking from questions we asked. Glass work was just as successful. The glass flew around the table at speed and at one time left the table. We believe this was the first time that any circle and glass work had ever been carried out in the ghost room.
THE SUMMARY
Ballygally Castle is quite an active place. We discovered through the table that the lady was Isabella Shaw who was incarcerated in this room by her husband after she had given birth. She either fell out of the window trying to escape or commited suicide, we are not completly sure yet. Isabella willingly answered our questions by knocking. She was so happy we were there and showed her anxiety when we were closing down to leave as she gave a light squeal which we all heard and hopefully will be put on our EVP recording page so you can lisen back to it. Many light anomolies, knocks and EVPs and spirit activity were captured but only after it has been downloaded and checked can we verify whether it is Paranormal or not. This was another good night for the Paranormal Ulster team.

PARANORMAL INVESTIGATION
IN THE SALTWATER BRIG - Sunday 25 th Jan 2009
History. The Saltwater Brig dates back to circa 1840 and was once a dwelling place. Little is known of the names of the occupants. It was turned into a small country bar and over the years has been extended and made into the fine eating house it is today.
On arrival we were welcomed by Donna and her staff. Tonight 's team members were Mike,Anne, Lisa ,Roy and new investigators Gary and Caron. We were taken on a tour of the building and outhouses where we immediately felt energy . We made the upstairs lounge our base to set up the CCTV and base station. While the equipment was being set up some members carried out Automatic Writing and Psychic Art which later on would fit up with the evidence we would receive.
Vigil 1
Once protection was done and lights out we sat in the small front room which had a fireplace. This probably would have been the living room of the house. Mike called out and after a few minutes we felt a rapid drop in temperature in one corner of the room. An elderly lady was sensed. Her name was Maggie. She was of a very quiet disposition and gave us a few knocks which were picked up on EVP. By this time batteries were running low.
Vigil 2
The adjoining lounge was the choice for vigil 2. This was turning out to be a strange night. The staff took turns in watching the CCTV monitor and reported a series of moving single light anomalies. Lisa did some of her Psychic Art.
The Seance
Our Seance was held in the front room . The temperature even with the fire on was chilling. Psychic breezes were blowing around our hands and Mike was still hearing the knocks on his ear piece. The energy in the room was not interested in making contact so we closed our seance down.
CCTV
The staff who were monitoring the screens had been watching a light anomaly flying in through the kitchen door, flying around the room and back through the door again. This happened a few times before they notified us on the walkie talkies. We decided to see for ourselves what was happening. Anne stood by the kitchen door while Mike and Gary watched the CCTV monitor. She was asked to call out and as reported the light anomaly appeared through the door flew around the room along the table stopped in front of her and out through the door again.
The Summary
Tonight was one of the quietest seances we have had. We were told that over the years the Spirit of an elderly lady has been seen in the front room beside the fire. Staff had given her the name of Mary but her proper name is Margaret. The Automatic writing gave us Maggie and Lisa drew her as a woman wearing glasses, her hair was Grey and in a Bun. The knocks we got were very faint. The light anomaly from the kitchen is an unusual one but not until the evidence is downloaded and scrutinised can we say it is Paranormal. Through the evening we did give a few surprises which had been caught on thermal cam but on re-enactment we found it to be a reflection. EVP of a mans voice was also caught and is being edited. It was truly a quiet night for us but we all enjoy what we do. Isn't that what Paranormal Investigation's are all about ?

PARANORMAL INVESTIGATION
AT RICHHILL CASTLE SUNDAY 21st DEC. 2008
With the exception of a few of us this was the first investigation at Richhill for the Paranormal Ulster team. New equipment has been purchased DVR RF1420 CCTV and we felt Richhill was the ideal location to test it out. While the team had a tour to grasp the feeling of the building Mike set the CCTV up and cameras were placed in various rooms. We also used night vision cameras and recording equipment to capture EVP.
THE VIGIL BEGINS
Bedroom 1
The first vigil began in one of the upstairs bedrooms. We sat quietly and called out. Very quickly the presence of a lady was felt. She was a lady of high esteem and could be felt walking around the room. A man's presence was sensed in the hallway outside. He would not enter the room but was heard walking up and down. He made a loud noise at the top of the stairs. Each of us had an experience in this room and we all experienced a bad smell.
Bedroom 2
This room had a lot of activity. We sat around the table in seance and then opened up a communication board and a spirit presence was heard sitting down on the chair at the window. During the Seance the lady from the previous room came through and told us her name was Ann. She was accompanied by a gentlemen who was identified as Edward. The room temperature dropped rapidly. Ann told us she had been the mistress of the house. Edward then communicated by tilting the table. This was a night for noises and strange sounds. Many footsteps were heard on the landing.
Downstairs bedroom
The final vigil took us down stairs to a small bedroom. Here again we were sensing spirit. One of the team sensed a woman sitting in a chair in the corner dressed in a type of uniform. She may have been a nurse looking after the person who lay ill in this bed.
The Summary
A very surprising night as those of us who had been there before had never experienced the activity we did tonight. On checking the history we learned Ann Sacheverelle was married to Edward Richardson about the year 1654. This was interesting and a success for us as the Paranormal and the history linked together. Once the CCTV cameras were set up and the dust allowed to settle we were amazed by the light anomilies which were picked up. This is truly a great bit of equipment. We are looking forward to our next visit to Richhill.
