Investigation Report 2
PARANORMAL ULSTER
Paranormal Investigation to
CHARLEVILLE CASTLE ON 23rd May 2009
The Investigation team were Mike, Anne, Gary, Caron, Roy and David.
We were joined by our great friends and fellow investigators Michelle, Gail and Adam from "Bumpzinthenite" The team was welcomed by Raymond and David from Newtownards who are doing voluntary restoration work at the castle. They are also the remaining members of the Amps Paranormal team.
The History
Charleville castle was build in the late 1700s by Charles William Bury,Earl of Charleville and in the 6th century was part of an ancient monastic site. The oak woods surrounding the castle were once the haunting grounds of Irelands druids.
The Investigation begins.
We set up our Base at the top of the stairs of the great hall beside the door to Harriets Staircase. Anne and Caron manned the CCTV and the sound equipment while the teams held the first vigil in the Ballroom. About ten minutes into the investigation the lights in the hall dimmed and a loud bang was heard in the ballroom. While this activity was going on the investigators on the base station were experiencing knocks, footsteps and bangs coming from Harriets staircase which leads up to the Nursery rooms and servant's quarters.
The Nursery Rooms and Servants Quarters
The Nursery Rooms and adjoining servants quarters are on the third floor and are under restoration
We decided to take a room either alone or with a partner. So in complete darkness we each held our own individual vigil. Mike saw through his third eye a Monk dressed in grey who was watching us and he also heard a shuffling sound across the room he was in. There was also a lot of knocks being heard. The Bumpz Team were touched and heard knocks while Gary and Roy experienced a presence and then a slamming door. David experienced seeing a shadow moving across the landing. Caron and Anne were in another room. Caron sensed something in the corner, spirit lights and a moving light was captured on night vision. While all this was going on the sensor alarms were triggered off. It was all happening here tonight.
The Dungeons
Part of the dungeons were flooded but we allow nothing to deter us.
Good EVP was captured and Roy was given a challenge. The spirit in the dungeon told him it can't handle all of us but it could take on one of us.
The Library
The Library has a large circular table which was excellent for our seance. There was a very strong energy with us. Psychic breezes were blowing around our hands. The temperature in the room was reading 12 degrees but the air circulating around us was extremely cold. A young girl's voice was heard and we had knocking on command. One of the battery lights was dimmed down until nearly out. The cold was so bad we had to call it a night so we closed the seance down.
The Summary
This was a excellent investigation. Each member of the two teams had a Paranormal experience. Knocks, slamming doors shuffling and footsteps were heard in rooms which were uninhabited and also on the staircase and landings. The Monk which Mike saw upstairs who was watching us was probably connected to the old Monascic Site. The little girl's voice was recorded or heard on each vigil. We think she may have been Harriet who fell from the stairwell and has been seen on the stairs. The extreme cold felt at the seance in the library has never been experienced by some of us who have been doing this for years. Charleville Castle is a massive building and we only had time to cover a small area. Many thanks to Raymond and David for looking after us and we will be returning later on in the year. A really good time was had by everyone.

PARANORMAL INVESTIGATION TO
LEAP CASTLE 23rd April 2009
"One of the most haunted castles in Europe"
The team arrived at Dooly's hotel in Birr , a small town in Southern Ireland and were welcomed by Michelle, Gail, Orla and Peter from Bumpz in the Nite team. After a meal we set off the short distance to Leap castle and were not disappointed by our findings. Sean gave us a hearty welcome and gave us some of the history of the castle. The place is amazing. After a walk around we decided to use the upstairs room as our base. Both teams set up trigger objects. A bad smell was sensed throughout the great hall.
VIGIL1
The teams split up. Gary and Roy manned the equipment. The Bumps went up to the Bloody Chapel while we set our selves up in the Great Hall. Very soon knocks were heard on request. Light anomalies were caught on night vision. The candle flame flickered to a great height and repeated again when asked. Mike saw through his crown chakra a small man walking across the room carrying a tray. He was wearing green tights and a green top. He was wearing pointed toe shoes. The name James was picked up. He feels he was deformed and had a limp.
VIGIL 2
The Bloody Chapel was our next vigil. This is where the Oubliette is. Oubliette in French means to forget and this was what happened to people who were thrown down on to the spikes, they had a slow death. A great place for a vigil? Over in one corner there is a priest hole where a monk has been seen. We used the dowsing rods in here with good results. The spirit kept moving round the room and was playing with us. Mike saw the little man again hunching up on the wall and glaring down on us. We were aware of being constantly watched.
VIGIL 3
A joint vigil of the two teams was held in the Bloody Chapel. Not long into the vigil one team member had to be removed owing to the high build up of energy making them feel sick. Psychic breezes were blowing round the room. Whatever was in the room did not want us here. The cold was extreme. The teams decided for two people at a time to sit in the Bloody Chapel. Each pair had their own experience to report. Mike reported strong breezes blowing around him and his partner and again a sense of being watched. Weird sounds were picked up on the Condenser Microphone. There is definately a very strong energy in this room as another team member reported feeling sick.
VIGIL 4
The highlight of the night was a vigil in the Oubliette. Mike,Gary,Roy and Peter climbed the ladder down into this pit which was the final resting place for many poor souls. The atmosphere was suffocating and a feeling of not being alone. EVPs were recorded down here.
THE SEANCE.
This was the last vigil of the night. A child came through during the seance. He gave his name as Rhory and had lived in the castle. Unfortunately energies were low and we had to close down.
THE SUMMARY.
This is an investigation we will be talking about for months afterwards. It is every Paranormal Investigators dream to investigate Leap castle. We had a great time with the Bumpz in the NIte team and have made great friends. We captured great footage on CCTV and our night vision cameras. Many EVPs were recorded and all this is being edited by our investigarors. The little man that Mike saw worked in the castle when it was owned by the Darby family, this was confirmed by Sean the owner of Leap Castle, The little man was wearing green Livery clothing usually worn by servants. He has been seen regularly in the castle checking the tables during the banquets. The Bloody Chapel and the Oubilette have a lot more secrets to give up so we will returning to Leap Castle later on this year. Many thanks to Sean for his hospitality and for inviting us back.
Truely one of the highlights of Paranormal Ulster's investigations in 2009.
